Long Island Man Sold Psychedelic Mushrooms, Booze: Nassau Police

A Deer Park man was caught selling psychedelic mushrooms and alcohol without a license, Nassau County police announced on Thursday, March 13.

Noel Alam, 29, of Albany Street, was arrested in Bethpage at 2:30 p.m. following a Narcotics/Vice Squad investigation, detectives said.

Alam allegedly used social media to coordinate the sale of psilocybin mushrooms and alcoholic beverages. Officers found him in possession of the substances during the arrest, police said.

He has been charged with:

  • Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance (Fifth Degree)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fifth Degree)
  • Selling Alcoholic Beverages Without a License

Alam is scheduled for arraignment on Friday, March 14, at First District Court in Hempstead.
